Chris Riegel

As the founder and CEO of STRATACACHE and CEO of Scala, Mr. Riegel leads strategic direction, technology development and engineering operations. An expert in emerging technologies, Mr. Riegel has 20 years in systems and networking technology ventures, including the addition of Scala in 2016. Possessing a unique combination of technical aptitude and business acumen, Mr. Riegel takes great pleasure in making personal appearances at client engagements. He is also a voracious reader and consumes volumes of technology and business literature daily.

Peter Cherna

Mr. Cherna is responsible for Scala’s global product strategy, which continues to leverage technologies, such as predictive analytics, social media, mobility and more, to provide the market’s most innovative digital signage solutions.

Mr. Cherna joined Scala in 1993 and has been employed in various technical and engineering management positions during that time. Prior to Scala, Mr. Cherna led the development of significant portions of the Amiga operating system at Commodore International Limited.

Mr. Cherna holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal.

Joe Sullivan

Joe Sullivan is Scala’s Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Sullivan has been managing products for over 15 years in various e-commerce, digital marketing and advertising agencies, and adtech companies. He has a successful track record of building high-performing product delivery teams and delivering innovative market-driven solutions.

Joe joined Scala in March of 2016 as Scala’s product management consultant. He was responsible for helping instill a new product delivery process and directly managing the delivery of Scala’s new cloud-based product line. Prior to joining Scala, Joe was Product Vice President at Pointroll where he streamlined the company’s product management and development team. Prior to Pointroll, he was AVP of Global Product Delivery at Hibu, at which he built out a digital project and delivery team from scratch.

General Manager EMEA

Harry Horn

Mr. Horn is general manager of EMEA and oversees efforts in sales, marketing, finance, services and support and daily activity in the Sittard, Netherlands-based EMEA office. Mr. Horn also is vice president of Scala’s global marketing, a position he has held since November 2012. Leading to his new role, Mr. Horn has worked to align sales, services and marketing to ensure a consistent, cohesive message and high-quality digital solution is delivered to customers and communicated to partners. As global marketing vice president, he drives the direction of the marketing strategy via channels including digital marketing, events, thought leadership and communications, awareness campaigns and prospect nurturing. Mr. Horn will extend his current presence in lending his expertise to speaking engagements and industry interviews worldwide.

Prior to his executive leadership roles, Mr. Horn was Marketing Manager EMEA. Previous to joining Scala, Mr. Horn served as European marketing and business development manager at ACCO Brands Corporation. Before that, Mr. Horn was marketing manager at Office Depot and he was in various senior commercial positions at GreenPower, where he was in a leading role growing the business from a start up to a profitable business.

Senior VP, Asia

Guillaume Proux

As VP Asia and General Manager of Scala KK based in Tokyo, Mr. Proux is responsible for Scala’s operations in China, Japan and Korea (CJK).

Based in Tokyo, Japan, Mr. Proux joined Scala in 2003 to start up Scala’s Asian operations to support the company’s growing number of Far-East customers after the earlier release of the Chinese, Japanese and Korean versions of Scala’s InfoChannel Digital Signage software suite. In 2006 he led the formation, incorporation and staffing of Scala’s new wholly owned subsidiary in Japan, which also saw the birth of the Japanese version of Scala’s website as well as the first Digital Signage blogs in Japanese.

Prior to joining Scala, Mr. Proux was a System Architect with Symbian, developers of the mobile operating system used today in over 40% of smart-phones world-wide, including models by Nokia and Sony-Ericsson. Prior to Symbian he was team leader at Fusion System Japan responsible for the development of the software client used for over half of the stock trades on the Osaka Stock Exchange. He brings to Scala a strong mix of skills ranging from technology to finance and business management.

Mr. Proux holds both a Master of Science in Telecommunications Technologies from Aston University (Birmingham, UK) as well as an Engineering Degree from ENST Bretagne (Brest, France) and is fluent in French, English and Japanese.

VP, Research & Development

Darren Greenwald

Darren Greenwald is vice president of Scala’s global Research & Development team, overseeing the daily innovation development, testing and certification and product roadmap direction for Scala’s digital signage platform. With more than 20 years in the digital signage industry, Mr. Greenwald has a broad scope of knowledge into the future of omni-channel digital strategies, analytics, platform requirements and system hardware.

Darren joined Scala in 1994 as an architect and engineer on many products from the InfoChannel series through IC3 and IC5, focusing on the products’ underlying system architecture, networking features and alternative device support. Prior to joining Scala, Darren developed and lead significant portions of the Amiga Operating System at Commodore International Limited. Prior to Commodore, Darren had experience as a hospital administrator for the State of California.
