Scala Partners Take Top Honors at the 2015 DailyDOOH Gala Awards
Winning projects were in the quick-service restaurant and hotel categories and best original digital billboard.
MALVERN, PA, USA (9 Dec 2015) – Three Scala partners took home top honors at last week’s DailyDOOH Gala Awards for their digital signage experiences built on and powered by the Scala platform. The awards, given by leading digital signage publication DailyDOOH, honor excellence in digital out-of-home (DOOH) displays and Scala partners and end-to-end solutions providers Pixel Inspiration, Beaver Group and Clear Channel UK won in the “Best QSR/Bar or Restaurant”, “Best Stadium/Office Building/Corporate/Hotel, Hospitality or Leisure Install,” and “Best Original Digital Billboard” respectively.
“We’re honored to have been involved in so many of the finalists’ solutions for such prestigious awards, seeing our partners recognized for innovating with and extending our flexible platform,” said Harry Horn, vice president of Marketing at Scala.
ITSU by Pixel Inspiration
The quick-service restaurant (QSR) was launching a new menu and wanted to also update from static menu boards to a more engaging and innovative digital system. A three-screen set up at the ordering counter promotes a different type of food on each screen, making menu navigation easier, and uses dayparting to ensure the content is as appealing and relevant as possible to customers. Additionally, Pixel built a content overlay where the ITSU signature butterfly icon floats across the screen to land on key menu items, encouraging sales. The dual-player system is fully stable and reliable to ensure business-critical display is always functional.
HUB hotel by Beaver Group
The new contemporary hotel chain from Premier Inns needed a modern, digital solution that reinforces the contemporary feel. Digital makes an immediate impact upon guests’ arrival where a video wall with an interactive touchscreen provides real-time news and entertainment and hotel check in can be done via touchscreen kiosks or custom-built app. The digital solution extends into the lounge area where guests can entertain themselves using wall-mounted tablets with a custom interface as well as into elevators where hotel information is dynamically displayed on mirrors. The digital experience rounds out the modern look and feel of the new hotel.
Storm Cromination by Clear Channel UK
The six 96 sheets that make up the Cromwell Road’s iconic Cromination site are being transformed by Scala partner Clear Channel UK into 450 square metres of the most creative space in the UK’s Digital Out of Home market place, as ‘Storm Cromination London’. Its transformation into a digital stage, means advertisers will have the opportunity not only to dominate one of the longest digital sites in Europe; but in a UK first they will be able to add 2D and 3D structures to the site in order to create mesmerising urban theatrics. ‘Storm Cromination London’ is powered by our Scala software.
Several other projects powered by the Scala platform were finalists for the prestigious awards: UpLift Media for Sky & Molson Coors in the “Best QSR/Bar or Restaurant” category, ATEA for DNB Banking in “Best Hotel, Hospitality or Leisure Install,” and a second nomination for Pixel Inspiration for Lloyds Banking Group in “Best High Street/Mall/Supermarket/Convenience Store or Forecourt Deployment.”
Additional Scala partners Digital Media Technologies, DMT360 & Ocean Outdoor were honored for their work in the “Best Digital Out of Home Campaign” category for an awareness campaign for the domestic violence charity Women’s Aid.
