  • 2015 Scala global headquarters moves to a new location in Malvern, PA, USA, located just outside of Philadelphia. The new location features an Experience Center, where guests can try out Scala digital solutions in person including Lift & Learn comparative screens, Style Advisor assistive selling tool, the beacon-powered Connected Café proximity app, corporate communications real-time screen updates, digital menu boards and more.
  • 2013 Launch of Scala Enterprise, including a completely revised user interface with intuitive workflows, support for Android players and HTML5 content and a completely new set of web service APIs for integration and possibilities for expansion.
  • 2012 Scala celebrates its 25th anniversary. Get ready for an exciting year of innovation!
  • 2008 Scala came up with the term “connected signage” for offering the first integrated platform for managing advertising of traditional as well as digital signage networks.
  • 2006 Scala5 was launched. The basis of the Scala product was rebuilt and reinforced for future products. Scala expanded by opening new offices in Japan.
  • 2004 Scala acquired Streambase in Oslo, Norway, growing the Scala technical team enormously. Streambase has the distribution technology required to direct the vision for new products.
  • 2002 IC3 was introduced.
  • 2000 Broadcast Server and Reporter were introduced.
  • 1999 InfoChannel Designer was born. This product had to become the flagship product for the creation of InfoChannel content.
  • 1997 MM200 and IC200 were launched. Scala MultiMedia MM200 was named a “1997 Most Valuable Product (MVP) Award Finalist” by PC Computing and also won the “Gold Award” from PC Format in the publication’s November 1997 edition.
  • 1996 Scala introduced MM100, IC100, PB100 for the PC platform. Scala was honored with the BYTE Award for technology.
  • 1994 Commodore went bankrupt and the Scala technical department began working on a PC-based product. 1994 was also the year that IC500 was launched.
  • 1992 Digital Vision AS was renamed Scala and the headquarters moved to the United States. The platform of choice was still the Amiga, but there were signs that Commodore was losing its position in the computer market.
  • 1988 Digital Vision AS introduces its first product on the popular Commodore Amiga platform, and InfoChannel was born.
  • 1987 Digital Vision AS was founded in Norway. In that time, the company focused on developing a product for cable TV broadcasters that could still be called digital signage, even in today’s world. The software ran on the first computers that were based on graphic resources, Commodore Amigas.
